BHFF Fellow Scholars and Alumni Attend the Fourth Embedded Meetup in Tuzla

Under the slogan “Building the Future, Bit by Bit,” the fourth Embedded Meetup brought together engineers, students, professors, and industry professionals in Tuzla on October 9, 2026. Among the participants were BHFF Senior Fellow Scholars Nejra Smajlović, Kristina Josipović, and Ismail Burajić, alongside BHFF Alumni Lamija Imamović, Mirsad Čajić, and Sanjin Halilhodžić, and BHFF Junior Fellow Scholar Hedija Šišić.

Held at Hotel Salis and organized by Semblie, a company that collaborates with the Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation (BHFF), the event provided an opportunity for members of the local technology community to exchange knowledge, explore emerging technologies, and connect with professionals working across engineering and innovation.

Connecting Engineering, Academia, and Industry

The Embedded Meetup is a regional technology event focused on embedded systems — the combination of hardware, firmware, and software that powers many of the devices and technologies used in everyday life. It brings together people from different backgrounds to share expertise, discuss technical challenges, and explore developments in fields such as electronics, microcontrollers, PCB design, testing, and the Internet of Things.

By bringing together industry professionals, students, and university representatives, the meetup also helps strengthen the connection between academic knowledge and practical engineering. These exchanges create opportunities for participants to learn from one another and gain insight into the skills and expertise needed to develop complex technological products.

Building the Future Through Knowledge Sharing

Beyond technical discussions, the Embedded Meetup highlights the capabilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s engineering community. Local engineers contribute to the design, development, and testing of advanced technologies, including products intended for international markets.

At the same time, conversations about the local technology ecosystem emphasize the importance of creating stronger opportunities for domestic innovation and investment. Events like the Embedded Meetup help bring these conversations to the forefront while connecting the people and organizations working to advance the sector.

Strengthening the BHFF Community

The participation of BHFF Senior Fellow Scholars Nejra Smajlović, Kristina Josipović, and Ismail Burajić, together with BHFF Alumni Lamija Imamović, Mirsad Čajić, and Sanjin Halilhodžić, BHFF Junior Fellow Scholar Hedija Šišić, areflects the engagement of the BHFF community in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s technology and innovation ecosystem.

Through opportunities to connect with professionals, explore emerging technologies, and exchange ideas, BHFF Scholars and Alumni can continue expanding their knowledge and building relationships across disciplines.
