Ambassadors

At Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation, we believe in the power of community in order to transform the lives of youth and the future of our homeland. We know the difference we can all make, in our own way. Bosnia & Herzegovina’s diaspora resides in all corners of our planet, where they have built incredible careers. Our ambassadors are well accomplished leaders who recognise the importance of giving back.

We’re looking for ambassadors who, like us, believe that high quality education, access to technology and leadership development equate to freedom, prosperity and tolerance in Bosnia & Herzegovina. We are passionate about creating a future where all youth in our homeland will grow up with the confidence that they can build a meaningful life where they were born. Click on the tabs below to find out more about how to become an ambassador, responsibilities, eligibility and to meet our incredible ambassadors!

Our ambassadors have a global mindset and are the face of the foundation. They share a true understanding of the vision, mission and values of the foundation and leverage their life experience to raise awareness for the foundation’s work in an authentic and continuous way. As such they are acting in an advocacy role, continuously communicating and performing PR for the foundation.

In addition, our ambassadors host and/or attend events (meetups, conferences) to engage with Bosnia & Herzegovina professionals around the world to grow their and our network. Ambassadors are social media savvy and will blog, post and share stories of their experiences, work and achievements.

Due to their large diversity, our ambassadors develop new opportunities for the foundation and our students. Their work can be best described as ‘business/opportunity development for non-for profit’ where they are continuously discovering new development opportunities for our students. This is undertaken in their day to day activities rather than going out of their way for discovery. Professionals regularly encounter dozens of opportunities, we want our students to discover them through our ambassadors. The opportunities can consist of (but not limited to):

  • Identifying internship opportunities & offering internships
  • Identifying and recruiting speakers for webinars, podcasts, conferences etc
  • Discovering or providing free professional development & training opportunities
  • Recruiting mentors and coaches
  • Advocating foundation goals, mission, vision and activities
  • Delivering or sourcing leadership training opportunities
  • Organising fundraisers or directly fundraising through individuals

Education | Professional Career | Leadership Qualities | Authenticity

Ambassadors will be recruited against 4 eligibility pillars consisting of formal education, professional career, leadership qualities and authenticity. This process will ensure that only high calibre candidates that are respected, well accomplished and genuine in their intentions will take on the foundation’s ambassador roles.

Education: ambassadors have had a formal education in form of an undergraduate university degree. Ideally, they are bi-lingual allowing them to confidently communicate in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and/or English. Candidates who speak more languages are highly sought after.

Professional Career: ambassadors have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience and demonstrate acumen in their respective industry, delivering tangible results. Ideally, they are easily recognisable through a social presence and are confident in speaking and appearing in public.

Leadership qualities: ambassadors stand out from the crowd through their leadership qualities. We are seeking individuals with skills that have been applied in practice to ensure that opportunities have a high probability of materialising. We are also looking for individuals that have led teams, have the ability to influence and combine strategic thinking with an attitude to get the job done.

Authenticity: ambassadors are the face of the foundation; authenticity is key for the long-term sustainability of the program. Our ambassadors have the highest levels of integrity, ethics and morals.

Geo-location: Our ambassadors are based all over the world while some countries are geographically small enough to have only one ambassador, others cover large geographic spans and as such may have more than one ambassador.

You are already a change agent in your own field with a deep intrinsic wish to make your home country a better place to live for the next generation. Here is your unique opportunity to make a difference, meet like-minded and highly successful individuals, to scale your ideas and drive tangible future impact in Bosnia and Herzegovina!

Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation Ambassadors share a deep love and connection to Bosnia and Herzegovina. They are driven more by intrinsic motivation that provide opportunities for mutual growth. While already accomplished in their own profession, they see themselves are lifelong learners who want to continue to grow professionally and personally. They want to expand their social circles, receive recognition for their impact under the umbrella of giving back. As ‘achievers’ they see the benefit that supporting the foundation will collectively have a bigger impact through the continuation of self-driven activities.

Ambassadors are passionate and devoted volunteers.
