From BHFF Passion Project to AI Conference: Prolog 2026 Brings Together 40+ Participants in Sarajevo

What began as a Passion Project within the Bosnia and Herzegovina Futures Foundation (BHFF) in 2025 has grown into a much larger story of innovation, collaboration, and community impact.

On 14–16 September 2026, Prolog Conference brought together more than 40 participants in Sarajevo for three days of engaging lectures, practical workshops, and discussions focused on artificial intelligence. Behind the event were BHFF Alumni Azra Kurić and Tarik Agić, whose initial idea has continued to grow into an initiative connecting people interested in AI and its applications.

This year's edition also brought new members into the organizing team, demonstrating how an idea can evolve when people share a vision and work together to make it happen.

From Passion Project to a Growing AI Community

Prolog began in 2025 as a Passion Project within BHFF, driven by the initiative of Azra Kurić and Tarik Agić. What started as an idea has since developed into a conference bringing together participants and speakers to explore one of today's most influential technological fields.

For BHFF, this journey represents the potential of Passion Projects to become meaningful initiatives beyond their initial scope. By encouraging young people to take ownership of their ideas, develop their skills, and turn their interests into action, the Foundation creates opportunities for projects to grow into something larger.

The 2026 edition marked another step forward for Prolog, with more than 40 participants joining three days of learning, knowledge exchange, and exploration of artificial intelligence.

A New Generation of Organizers

Alongside Alumni Azra Kurić and Tarik Agić, this year's organizing team included BHFF Senior Fellow Scholar Kerim Fetić, and Salih Seferović.

Their collaboration reflects the importance of bringing together people at different stages of their professional journeys to build initiatives that create opportunities for others.

Organizing a conference requires more than an interest in its subject. It takes coordination, planning, teamwork, and a shared commitment to creating a valuable experience for participants. Through Prolog, the team put these skills into practice while helping expand the local community interested in artificial intelligence.

Three Days of AI Insights and Knowledge Exchange

The conference featured an impressive lineup of speakers who shared their knowledge, experience, and perspectives on artificial intelligence.

The speakers included: Jasmin Jahić, Adna Hadžiselimović, Adnan Sijerčić, Suad Krilašević, Medina Kapo, Nermin Čović, Senka Krivić, Danira Mustafić, Iman Kurtović, and Asja Festa.

Across three days, their contributions helped create an environment for participants to engage with AI through expert talks, new perspectives, and discussions about the technology's growing relevance.

By bringing together speakers and participants with an interest in artificial intelligence, Prolog provided an opportunity to learn from people working in the field and explore the possibilities AI continues to create.

Learning Through Practical Workshops

Alongside the conference talks, Prolog featured workshops led by Adnan Pavlović, Salih Seferović, Lejla Turulja, Enida Mostić-Brkić, and Melisa Musić.

The workshops complemented the lecture program by giving participants additional opportunities to engage with the subject matter and learn through practical activities.

Combining expert presentations with workshops helped make the conference a space not only for discovering new ideas, but also for developing skills and exploring how knowledge can be applied.

With more than 40 participants, three days of programming, and contributions from a diverse group of speakers and workshop leaders, Prolog continued to build momentum as an initiative dedicated to artificial intelligence and learning.

BHFF Passion Projects: Turning Ideas Into Action

Prolog's development from a Passion Project in 2025 into a conference bringing together more than 40 participants in 2026 illustrates what can happen when young people are encouraged to pursue their ideas.

Passion Projects give BHFF Fellow Scholars and Alumni the opportunity to identify areas they care about, take initiative, and create projects that reflect their interests and ambitions. Some ideas remain small and focused, while others develop into broader initiatives that bring people together and create new opportunities.

Prolog is an example of the latter. What began with Azra Kurić and Tarik Agić has grown into a collaborative effort involving a wider organizing team, speakers, workshop leaders, and participants.

Its progress highlights the importance of giving young people room to experiment, lead, and learn by doing.

Building Future Leaders and Changemakers

At BHFF, success means more than supporting young people as they pursue academic and professional achievements. It also means empowering them to become people who initiate projects, bring others together, and contribute to their communities.

Prolog reflects that mission in action. Through the initiative, BHFF Alumni and Scholars have helped create a space for learning and collaboration around artificial intelligence, while developing the leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills needed to turn ideas into reality.

BHFF is proud to see a Passion Project grow into a larger initiative and to see its Alumni and Scholars become the leaders and changemakers who make these opportunities possible.

Prolog's journey is a reminder that meaningful change often starts with one idea, a willingness to take the first step, and a community that helps that idea grow.
