Welcoming the Next Generation of Changemakers: 27 New Junior Scholars Join BH Futures Foundation

A New Generation Begins Their Journey with BHFF

We are proud to welcome 27 new Junior Scholars to the BH Futures Foundation Incubation Program.

Over two days of onboarding, our newest scholars had the opportunity to meet one another, learn more about the Foundation, connect with members of our teams, and take their first steps into the BHFF community. The onboarding was designed not only to introduce them to the Foundation's structure and opportunities, but also to encourage collaboration, reflection, and a strong sense of community from day one.

Two Days of Learning, Connection, and Collaboration

The first day began with an opportunity for the scholars to get to know one another and build the foundations for the community they will be part of throughout their journey.

We started by exploring their expectations, motivations, and goals for joining the program. This gave everyone a chance to share what they hope to learn, contribute, and achieve during their time with BHFF.

The scholars then learned more about BHFF's structure, mission, and teams. Members of the Executive Leadership Team introduced the different teams within the Foundation and shared more about the work they do, the projects they lead, and the ways Junior Scholars can get involved.

After lunch, the scholars took part in a Human Potential workshop, focusing on personal development and the skills and qualities that can support their growth throughout the program.

This was followed by a Mentoring workshop, where they explored the importance of mentorship, meaningful professional relationships, and making the most of the guidance and connections available through the Foundation.

The afternoon continued with a series of Events Team workshops, giving scholars an insight into the work behind BHFF events and the importance of planning, communication, collaboration, and teamwork when bringing people together.

The first day concluded with free time, giving the scholars an opportunity to continue conversations, get to know one another better, and strengthen the connections they had started building throughout the day.

Building Stronger Teams

The second day began with a workshop focused on volunteering through teamwork.

The session explored how individual strengths can contribute to a shared goal and highlighted the importance of communication, responsibility, and collaboration when working as part of a team.

The morning continued with another Events Team workshop, allowing the scholars to further explore event planning and the practical responsibilities involved in supporting BHFF activities.

After two full days of sessions, workshops, conversations, and team activities, the onboarding concluded with a shared lunch and a final opportunity for the new scholars to connect before heading home.

The Journey Starts Now

Joining the Incubation Program is about more than attending workshops or becoming part of a team. It is an opportunity to learn by doing, build meaningful relationships, develop new skills, and contribute to something bigger than yourself.

Over the months ahead, our Junior Scholars will have the opportunity to work alongside fellow scholars, mentors, alumni, staff, and members of the wider BHFF community. They will take on new responsibilities, participate in projects, discover areas they are passionate about, and grow both personally and professionally.

We are excited to watch this new generation find their place within the Foundation, challenge themselves, support one another, and turn their ideas into action.
