From Mentorship to Real World Experience: Ismail’s Four Days in Germany

Through the BHFF Mentorship Program, Ismail Burajić had the opportunity to spend four days in Germany with his mentor, Amer Muratović, exploring professional opportunities, academic pathways, and life in Karlsruhe.

One of the highlights of the visit was a tour of Bosch, where Ismail got an inside look at the company and its working environment. Amer also shared more about his role, responsibilities, and the projects he is currently working on, giving Ismail a closer look at what a career in an international company can look like.

As Ismail is considering pursuing a master’s degree abroad, Amer also arranged a visit to KIT University, where Ismail had the chance to learn more about master’s programs, the campus, and the opportunities available to international students.

Outside of the professional and academic visits, the four days included exploring Karlsruhe, discovering new places, sports activities, and plenty of time for conversations and getting to know each other.

For Ismail, however, one of the biggest highlights was Amer’s generosity and hospitality throughout the visit. His willingness to share his time, experience, and knowledge made the experience particularly meaningful.

This is what mentorship can look like beyond a conversation. It can mean opening a door, sharing your experience, answering questions, and giving someone the opportunity to explore possibilities firsthand.

For Ismail, these four days were more than a visit to Germany. They were an opportunity to gain a new perspective on his academic and professional future.
