Tuzla Academy 2025: Science, Self-Discovery, and New Beginnings

Tuzla Academy was a multi-day experience designed to develop both the minds and characters of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s future leaders. The city of Tuzla came alive with learning, purpose, and transformation.

Our internal Academy events focused on team building and soft skill development for scholars. The goal: to showcase the excellence of our scholars and inspire the communities around them with what’s possible when talent, education, and purpose meet.

Exploring bhff & Personal Values and Integrity

The Academy opened with an introspective workshop titled “BHFF Values”, led by Jasmina Sabrihafizović. In this reflective session, scholars explored how personal values influence decision-making, relationships, and professional paths. Through group discussions and exercises, they gained clarity on what truly drives them—and how to stay aligned with it through all of life’s challenges.

Building Habits That Drive Achievement elt workshop

Another highlight was the practical and empowering workshop “Orderly Self-Management: Building Habits That Drive Achievement”, led by Mirela Turković. Scholars learned the science of habit formation, explored how to manage themselves in complex and changing environments, and identified the small daily actions that lead to big personal and academic wins. The session provided tools for long-term self-discipline, motivation, and continuous progress.

Modeling the Real World through Science

From soft skills to hard science, the Academy also featured a thought-provoking workshop titled “Modeling Reality: Physics and Statistics”, led by Professor Dr. Rifat Omerović from the University of Tuzla. This session focused on how natural laws and statistical models can help us make sense of the world—from everyday occurrences to complex systems. Scholars explored how physics helps describe the laws that govern reality, while statistics equips us to deal with uncertainty, measurements, and predictive thinking—tools essential in both science and life.

Celebrating Growth: Graduation Ceremony

The Academy culminated in an emotional graduation ceremony, as a group of our senior scholars officially transitioned into the BHFF Alumni community. Surrounded by mentors, volunteers, and peers, they reflected on their journey and looked forward to the new roles they will now play in giving back, mentoring, and shaping the next generation.
