Bosnian and Herzegovinian Talent Shines at the 3MT Ceremony during the 16th Days of BHAAAS

21st of June, 2025 – Researchers' Meetup and 3MT Ceremony

As part of the 16th Annual Days of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), the BH Futures Foundation proudly took part in a day dedicated to research excellence and youth empowerment.

The day featured the BHFF Researchers' Meetup, where BHFF scholars, mentors, and alumni gathered to connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate academic achievements. This inspiring event also included the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, a dynamic platform where students had just 180 seconds to present their research in an engaging, accessible format.

The event was opened by Melvisa Kovač, Program Manager at the BH Futures Foundation, who welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of creating spaces for youth to grow, share knowledge, and shape their academic and professional paths. Following her remarks, Professor Dr. Zlatan Akšamija, Vice President of BHAAAS, addressed the audience with words of encouragement and highlighted the value of investing in education, collaboration, and future leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We are thrilled to announce that BH Futures Foundation scholars excelled at the 3MT competition in the Bachelor's category:
Sanjin Halilhodžić1st Place, and
Ilma Hodžić3rd Place.

Their ability to communicate complex academic content in a clear, concise, and compelling way impressed the judges and the audience alike. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and the passion they bring to their fields of study.

The event also featured an inspiring address by Professor Emeritus Asif Šabanović, who shared insights from his remarkable academic career. His reflections on STEM, innovation, and the power of continuous learning left a lasting impression on all attendees.

Events like this showcase the brilliance and determination of our young scholars and reaffirm our commitment to empowering the next generation of Bosnian and Herzegovinian leaders through education, technology, and global engagement.
