Weekend of Innovation and Learning: Robotics Workshop Held in Tuzla

On May 17th and 18th, the city of Tuzla became a hub of innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning as a group of BHFF scholars gathered at the DKR Tuzla center for an intensive robotics workshop.

The training brought together four passionate scholars — Amina Bajramović, Lejla Nezirović, Mirsad Čajić, and Iman Kantić — for two days of immersive experience working with advanced robotics equipment, particularly the KUKA industrial robot.

Over the weekend, participants delved into the world of automation and robotic programming. They were given the opportunity to interact directly with the KUKA robot, performing essential tasks such as calibration and decalibration, tool and base scanning, and programming the robot to complete tasks like writing their names and executing pick-and-place operations with cylindrical objects. These practical challenges provided not only technical skill-building but also a memorable, fun, and inspiring experience.

Guiding the group through every step was Mahir Ribić, whose expertise, patience, and clear communication turned a highly technical subject into an engaging and accessible learning journey. From answering questions to providing hands-on support, Mahir’s mentorship played a key role in the success of the workshop.

Beyond the robotics lab, the scholars took time to explore the city of Tuzla and connect with other BHFF fellows, reinforcing the strong sense of community and shared purpose that the Foundation fosters.

The weekend concluded on a high note with the presentation of official certificates, marking not just the end of the workshop, but the beginning of many new ideas and possibilities. Each participant left with expanded knowledge, greater confidence, and a renewed passion for innovation and technology.
