Community Outreach: Inspiring Students at Mješovita Srednja Ekonomsko-Ugostiteljska Škola, Travnik
As part of our ongoing community outreach, BH Futures Foundation scholar Lamija Maglić visited Mješovita Srednja Ekonomsko-Ugostiteljska Škola in Travnik to share her personal journey and the transformative opportunities available through the Foundation.
Lamija provided students with an insightful overview of what it means to be a BHFF Scholar, highlighting the comprehensive support system that includes:
Mentorship: Personalized guidance from industry professionals and academic experts to help scholars navigate their educational and career paths.
Company Visits: Organized tours to leading tech companies and organizations, offering students a firsthand look at real-world applications of their studies and potential career opportunities.
Workshops: Interactive sessions focused on developing both technical skills and soft skills, ensuring scholars are well-rounded and prepared for the challenges ahead.
Student-to-Student Activities: Peer-led initiatives that foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a strong sense of community among scholars.
She also highlighted flagship programs like the Futures Leaders Summit, a premier event that brings together over 500 students, professionals, and researchers to connect, learn, and build their futures.
Additionally, Lamija discussed prestigious competitions such as the 3 Minute Thesis (3MT), which challenges students to communicate the significance of their research projects to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes, and the Vera Šnajder Award, a grant supporting students' participation in conferences or study visits they would otherwise be unable to attend.
Lamija's presentation not only informed but also inspired students to envision the possibilities that lie ahead when supported by a community committed to their growth and success.
