Bringing Technology Closer to Young Minds: Lamija Mehić’s Arduino Workshop
Lamija Mehić, Junior Scholar at the Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation, recently experienced one of those moments that perfectly capture why she loves her work.
As part of the Mobile Makerspace team, Lamija had the opportunity to host an Arduino workshop in her hometown of Vitez. The session was filled with curious students, breadboards, wires, and that unique mix of confusion and excitement when circuits finally come to life. Watching the students’ faces light up as the first LEDs blinked was the highlight of the day.
This workshop held special significance for Lamija, as she has just officially joined the Mobile Makerspace team as a 3D Printing Workshop Coordinator. While her main focus will be on 3D printing and introducing this technology to youth across Bosnia and Herzegovina, this unexpected Arduino session allowed her to engage directly with students in a hands-on, interactive way.
“I’m so grateful to be part of a team that values curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning,” Lamija shares. “This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait for all the workshops and adventures ahead.”
Through initiatives like Mobile Makerspace, BH Futures Foundation continues to inspire and empower young minds, providing them with practical skills, creative opportunities, and a taste of the exciting world of technology.
