Lanaco Scholarships for Two BHFF Scholars — Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation

This spring, BH Futures Foundation has partnered with LANACO to award two hardworking students with scholarships and support for their learning endeavours. This activity is the first one ever since the partnership had been established at the end of 2021.

LANACO is the largest private IT company in BiH, which has been operating since 1990, and currently has over 350 employees. The company's headquarters is LANACO Technology Centre in Banja Luka with offices in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Fort Worth (Texas), as well as Belgrade (Serbia) and Novi Sad (Serbia).

LANACO creates its own software solutions that are implemented in the public and private sector. LANACO is constantly investing in the education and training of its employees who possess over one thousand internationally recognized certificates. Quality is also confirmed by global IT companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, SAP, HP, Fujitsu, Fortinet, EMC, Intel, VMware, Kaspersky, Kyocera. Furthermore, we are connected by the understanding of the importance of education and the desire to develop young talents who will build the IT industry of this country together.

Having all of this in mind, LANACO and BHFF have awarded two scholarships to Haris Peštalić and Altijana Mujić.

Haris has expressed his gratitude for this opportunity, and he believes this scholarship is going to be of immense help to him in his further development as an engineer, because this scholarship includes having a mentor from LANACO and having assigned a team to work with. He believes this teamwork is going to help him improve his skills which is a valuable thing for any up-and-coming engineer.

Our second scholar who received this scholarship, Altijana Mujić is currently at an exchange in Spain, and she was included in this event remotely. Altijana has expressed her excitement for having the opportunity to get a glimpse into the processes happening at the company while also being able to improve her own skills. She believes this is going to be a fantastic opportunity for her.

One more reason we are grateful for this partnership is having one of our alumni working at LANACO. Momčilo Amović was a university student when he received his LANACO scholarship, and he says having the opportunity to work as an intern during summer had helped him improve his skills and finally land a job at LANACO. As for BHFF, Momčilo has expressed the importance of informal education for which BHFF was responsible during his own time as a student at the Foundation.

We are extremely excited to see what our scholars are going to be up to with this scholarship and we cannot wait to see their next step into the world of IT. We hope that this cooperation will enable the development of young talents into future leaders by giving them access to technology and education.
