Donji Vakuf Makerspace: A new place to solve local and global issues.

This month we opened Makarspace in Donji Vakuf and we wanted to create a place for young people where they can learn about the latest technological innovations and where they can grow as the young leaders of their communities, the new Makerspace is equipped with various tech devices that allow them to apply their knowledge in practice and turn their ideas into reality, by which they are going to develop their community.

“By opening the Futures Makerspaces across Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting with the hub opened in Srebrenica in 2019, the BH Futures Foundation, along with the local community, wants to empower young people to invest into their development and the development of their communities, as well as change the tomorrow with us. Our goal is to create a network of 20 makerspaces by the end of 2023. These makerspaces are going to allow to create a program that is going to entail creating special activities for gathering ideas into innovations, and the businesses, under the name of Futures Makerspace StartUp Nest” - said Bass Hadžiahmetović.

As a local activist and the connection to local officials, Naser Rujanac was included in the project of creating the makerspace.

“One of the BHFF’s important missions is connecting successful members of Bosnian diaspora and their collaboration with young people in our country. The BH Futures Foundation, particularly in this case includes professional development, mentorship to our young people, as well as equipping a contemporary Makerspace in Donji Vakuf, to which I am especially grateful. The fact that even amid pandemic this project has been successfully brought to reality makes it even more special” - said Rujanac.
