Our Achievements in 2020

Who could predict that 2020 will be like this? It looked like a rollercoaster ride for sure, but we at BH Futures Foundation always give our best to see the sunny side in everything, and that is exactly what we did with 2020 as well. This year has been the best one for us until now, according to all parameters, but it would be impossible without our big team who works day and night behind the scenes. So thank you people! Our scholars and volunteers, and our donors, none of this would be possible without you and we are immensely proud of everything we achieved together this year!
First of all, there is something that COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to do, and we are very proud of it. We are empowering the youth through education, technology and leadership. In 2020, the education system had to switch to the online world very fast, so we jumped in to help with our expertise and knowledge.
We decided to help students through our Tutoring program and in the end more than 450 students got extra lessons through more than 10 000 hours of tutoring lessons held by our 70 tutors.
In addition to that, we decided to help our teachers as well, so we created an online course named “Lideri Online Nastave”, and until now more than 6000 teachers participated, and not only from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but from our neighbour countries as well!
We analyzed everything else, transformed to numbers, here is how it looks like:
Due to events we organized, we were mentioned more than 300 times in the B&H media
We took on 99 new scholars, an absolute record in one year for now
Our scholars were very active in their search for an employment, so 16 of them found a full-time job during 2020, while 13 did internships, in B&H and abroad as well
2 Futures Academies organized, the one in March was live, we met in Zenica, and in November we held our first-ever online Futures Academy.
For the 5th year in a row, we organized IEEE Innovation Nation program, which is the biggest program of its kind in our country
Futures Voices podcast hosted 13 speakers this year
Our Futures Webinars Series was fire this year, and we held 33 webinars
Despite the circumstances, we still managed to stay in touch with our diaspora through 7 BH Professionals meetups organized worldwide including Istanbul, Shanghai, Cologne, Vienna, Walldorf, Kuala Lumpur and Online BH Professionals Netherlands Meetup.
Our Foundation organized or co-organized 62 different events during the past year, which means that we did only 1 event less than in 2019, which is great having the circumstances in mind.

We teamed up with 12 different organizations through events and projects
We signed 10 new partnership memorandums with companies and organizations including: Infobip, Mistral, APS Engineering, Codecta, Business Women of B&H, Pangea Netzwerk, Association of Mechanical Engineers in BiH, Al Sharq, School & School and KULT.
We spent more than 1000 hours on Zoom since March this year, doing meetings, webinars, panels, workshops and then some.
Finally, we have almost 300 donors who support us every month and we are very thankful to them for making this possible!
