Spread the Knowledge - Futures Show and Tell Sessions

Recently, we have started online Futures Show and Tell Sessions, where some mentees from our extended Mentorship Program got a unique opportunity to present what they learned so far with their mentors. Yes, it means that in such a relatively short timeframe of several months our mentees learned a lot enough to be granted a position of educators in our online Futures Show and Tell sessions.

We launched a total of three episodes of this show, each of them having a few educators and spanning a wide variety of topics. Episodes were hosted and moderated by Majda Mujanović-Babović, who is our coordinator of the extended Mentorship Program.

Futures Show and Tell sessions are a unique opportunity for mentees in our extended Mentorship Program to present what they’ve learned with their mentors. In a total of three episodes, several mentees (Muhamed, Ajla, Alen, Valerija, Rijad and Mirza) were granted the educator positions and shared their valuable insights with their peers.

Here we bring you the top 3 pieces of advice from the three presenters from our last episode.

On seeking internship

According to Valerija Ereš, to get a wanted internship position, you need to be original and yourself, because it is what distinguishes you from other people. Besides that, you should never stop learning new things, getting new skills, and broaden your network by meeting new people and connections. Bear in mind that, more people you know, more valuable and rich you are. Finally, whenever you are up to do something good in your career, do it without thinking about it too much.

On coordinating the project

When talking about project and self-coordination, Rijad Ahmetović advised us to try first to coordinate everything that surrounds us and then yourself and the people around you. It is always more valuable and better to work in a team, because such teamwork makes your project rich and successful and you should be aware that your net connection is your net value.

On successful trade

Mirza Čelegija gave us useful tips on how to successfully sell something, by focusing on what other side wants to hear and know. Top three advices to accomplish that are as follow:

  1. Focus on the other party's problem

  2. Offer a solution and explain the value your product/service will give it

  3. Don't talk about your interests

This method helped Mirza replace a worn-out laptop for a new one with the same features - with minimal surcharge and at mutual pleasure.

We are very proud of all mentees that took participation in this Mentorship Program. They are a lot of successful stories, and we have shared just some of them so far. One of the most valuable successes is to see mentees becoming educators, meaning that they already got enough knowledge. We congratulate them and wish them all the best. Stay tuned for more success stories.
